“Discover: Esports is a unique, educational conference designed to demystify the complex world of esports.”
My goal was to create a visual identity that captured the team’s passion - and their love for the colour purple - while also reflecting the conference’s beginner-friendly approach towards showcasing the world of esports.
Designing with flexibility in mind, my aim was to create a meaningful logo with a complimentary set of graphic assets to ensure consistent brand representation across any format.
Inspired by the team’s proud Northern heritage, the end result was a vibrant, multi-faceted gem design that embodies the brand’s colours. From the various facets that make up the logo, five were chosen to represent some of the most integral aspects of the esports landscape: teams, tournaments, games, platforms and fans. Reaching far beyond the visual practicalities that these elements were originally designed for, this nuanced approach testifies to authenticity of the brand and the conference, shaped by the collective insights of the industry professionals who all played an integral part in its development and success.
CONFERENCE GRAPHICS
With Discover: Esports’ vibrant new visuals finalised, the next step involved integrating them across all aspects of the conference's graphics.
This included a variety of marketing graphics and announcements, the D:E sales deck, ID badges and even an esports bingo leaflet. Last but not least, I designed a variety of LED screen displays (the mainstage, registration desk and digital poster boards) that stood out in vibrant contrast to the industrial features of the event’s location (the Boiler Shop).
